Evaluation

Furious Angels launched on February 27, 2017 and received a handful of content updates in its early life: Version 1.3 (August 12, 2017) added a laser upgrade and reworked ship progression, and Version 1.5 (December 21, 2017) added two new maps and a new music track. After that, update activity shifted toward balance tweaks and feature patches rather than new content, culminating in a controls update (v1.9j) on September 23, 2021. The most recent developer communication of any kind is an October 4, 2025 security patch for the underlying Unity engine — a routine maintenance update with no gameplay changes. The developer's own posts from 2018 and 2022 describe work on separate new games (AFTERBURN and TOP DOG), suggesting that Furious Angels has been in a maintenance-only state for some time. The last meaningful gameplay addition was in September 2021, and the developer has made no announcements of upcoming content, roadmaps, or expansions. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store. The store description presents the game as a complete, self-contained score-attack experience with daily leaderboards — a design that does not require ongoing content drops to function. Given all of this, the game launched and was developed to a finished state, with its content effectively complete as of the final gameplay patch on September 23, 2021.

  • Ram the enemy!

HOW DOES IT PLAY?

The recommended way to play Furious Angels is with the mouse: aim, fire with the left button, thrust with the right button and hold your fire to repair. Thats it.

You can also use a more familiar twin-stick control scheme with your Gamepad OR Mouse + WASD.

LEADERBOARDS?

Absolutely, but there's a catch: everything will reset the next day with a rank upgrade and new waves, a fresh start.

WHAT ABOUT THE UPGRADES?

As you shred the enemy to pieces your ship will transform and upgrade automatically. There are four upgrade stages, each with its own unique weapon. Upgrades can level up and be obtained multiple times but each time they will be harder to get. How furious will you become?
