Furious Seas launched into Early Access in 2017 and went through several development phases before reaching its full 1.0 release on July 18, 2021. The developer, Future Immersive, celebrated the completion of the story campaign — specifically the conclusion of the Crimson Bandit Saga — as the milestone marking the game's full release. The July 19, 2021 announcement explicitly states that "Furious Seas Story Campaign is finished," describing all of the content added since the team returned from a development hiatus.
