Evaluation

Gallipoli launched on August 20, 2026 — today's date — as the fourth game in BlackMill Games' WW1 Game Series. At launch, the developer published a detailed roadmap outlining an ambitious multi-year content plan. The game is organized around "Expeditions," with the First Expedition going live at launch. The developer explicitly stated that a second free content update (Ali Al Muntar) was already in its final stages of development at the time of release. Further planned content includes the battle of Chunuk-Bair and New Zealand involvement in a Third Expedition, coverage of the Caucasus front, and French participation in future expeditions. The developer described this roadmap as spanning "coming years" and drew a direct parallel to their continued post-launch support for the previous game, Isonzo. All eight DLC listed on the store are released cosmetic packs — the developer confirmed that DLC is purely cosmetic, with free content updates used to expand the game. The developer's launch post makes clear that cosmetic DLC revenue is specifically intended to fund ongoing free content development.

About this game

Take part in the historic beach landings at Gallipoli and fight for survival on unforgiving shores and sun-scorched deserts!

After the muddy trenches of Verdun, the snowy plains of Tannenberg, and the imposing Alps of Isonzo, Gallipoli brings you the deepest dive into the Ottoman Fronts of World War 1 through grounded, yet accessible battles.

Gallipoli puts you in the shoes of a regular soldier of the British and Ottoman Empires. Join the expeditions across Mesopotamia and the Gallipoli Peninsula to defend the territory of the Ottoman Empire, or capture it to drive the Central Power out of the war. This is a hardcore, one-shot-one-kill PVP environment that demands teamwork in intense objective-based battles.

Fight on varied yet unforgiving battlefields in the infamous four-year campaign across the Ottoman fronts. Land on the beaches of Anzac Cove at dawn to seize the Dardanelles, attack the fort at Cape Helles aboard the SS River Clyde, or advance through the streets of Kut Al Amara to push back the British forces in Lower Mesopotamia.

Work together as a squad to gain an edge over your opponents in 25v25 PVP combat. Pick from 10 different specialized classes, each with an essential historical role on the battlefield. Take the lead as an Officer, lay down suppressive fire as a Heavy Machine Gunner or Sniper, and keep your squad in the fight as a Stretcher Bearer!

Weighty weapon handling and methodical reloads keep the engagements grounded, affected by your mental state and familiarity with each weapon. Explore the authentic arsenals of the British and Ottoman Empires, featuring over 50 highly detailed weapon and equipment options, and feel each weapon’s historical characteristics.

Join the expeditionary campaigns of the Ottoman Fronts now and experience the brutal combat of Gallipoli!

  • Authentic WW1 battles: Fight through history with immersive maps, detailed uniform customization and 50+ historically accurate weapons and equipment.

  • Varied theatre: Engage in expeditionary warfare across coastal ravines, arid deserts, urban areas and more. Land on the beaches of Gallipoli aboard the SS River Clyde or hunker down under the ancient Arch of Ctesiphon.

  • Immersive gameplay: Enter brutal WW1 combat with one-shot-one-kill gameplay focused on grounded, objective-based battles. Keep your momentum high while you break through the enemy’s defenses.

  • Realistic gunplay: Handle weighty weapons that look, feel, and sound authentic. Grow more skillful with experience, improving aim, handling and your ability to reload while suppressed.

  • Class-based multiplayer FPS: Choose from 10 historical classes with distinct specializations. Join a squad and work as a team on PC and Consoles with crossplay.

  • Never fight alone: Bots will join the fight over the future of the Ottoman Fronts in public matches, and optionally in custom matches.

Gallipoli is the newest sequel in the WW1 Game Series, which takes you along all major fronts of the Great War. Dive into the trenches along the Western Front in Verdun, charge for key sectors of the Eastern Front in Tannenberg, or scale the mountains of the Alpine Front in Isonzo!
