Game Company Simulator: Back to 2000 was developed by three university students at Fate Game Studio and released on April 24, 2021. In the launch announcement on April 25, 2021, the developer mentioned hopes to "do some updates and even DLC as much as possible" in the future, but framed this as aspirational rather than committed — noting that finishing their university graduation project came first, with no specific content named or announced.
Following launch, the studio issued two bug-fix and optimization patches in quick succession (April 27 and April 29, 2021). These are the last developer communications on record. There have been no further posts, patches, announcements, or DLC releases of any kind since April 29, 2021 — nearly five years of silence as of June 2026.
The vague hope for future updates expressed at launch was never followed up with any roadmap, named DLC, or concrete announcement. Given the studio was made up of students who had just completed a graduation project, and that all activity stopped within days of launch, the game appears to have shipped as a finished product with no post-launch content cycle ever materializing.
