Evaluation

Garage Sale launched on June 28, 2024, as a self-described complete, standalone story exploration game. The store description presents a fully-featured package — over 30 villagers, 75+ rooms, 50+ collectible items, and a heartfelt narrative — with no mention of additional content, season passes, or post-launch expansions. The pre-launch devlogs (running from September 2023 through March 2024) document a game being polished for a one-time release, and the launch announcement on June 25, 2024 framed the game as finished after two and a half years of development. After launch, the team shipped three small bug-fix patches (July 1, July 8, and December 17, 2024) addressing control issues, crashes, and dialogue bugs — all maintenance-focused with no new content introduced. There are no DLC listings, no announced expansions, and no roadmap for future updates. The last developer communication was the bug-fix patch on December 17, 2024. Garage Sale launched as a complete, self-contained experience and has received only maintenance support since then.

About this game

Welcome to Lettuce Village! You're exploring the tiny forest town's communal garage sale as Juniper, a young resident who's shy yet eager to cure her summer loneliness and maybe pick up a few trinkets along the way.

It wouldn't be a garage sale without lots of treasures! Throughout the game, you'll be able to shop at various garage sales, yard sales, and stores to find storied antiques, homemade crafts, and sentimental trinkets that provide glimpses into their former owners' lives. (And, if you explore every nook and cranny in Lettuce Village, you'll find just enough coins to purchase every item in the sale. You're welcome.)

Lettuce Village is in the middle of nowhere, so your neighbors are... a bit interesting. As you explore the town, you'll have the opportunity to complete small quests to help your neighbors, rewarding you with bits of the town's history, some coins or unique items, and occasionally a lifelong friendship.

Despite its small size, Lettuce Village has quite the interesting history. Take your time talking to your neighbors, exploring every area, and completing as many quests as you can — you just might be able to uncover some of the town's well-kept secrets...

Features:

  • Over 30 unique villagers to get to know through 10+ side quests

  • Over 75 rooms to explore, including houses, forested areas, secret passageways, and some pretty quirky surprises

  • Over 50 items to collect, each with its own backstory that reveals information about the town's residents

  • Tens of thousands of lines of flavor text

  • A heartfelt narrative about the importance of community

  • No timers, no scores, no stress!
