Evaluation
Garden of Oblivion is a short horror point-and-click visual novel that was originally created for a game jam (Ludum Dare 30) and released on Steam on March 9, 2018, as a free-to-play title. It launched alongside its only DLC — an original soundtrack — on the same day, indicating it shipped as a complete, self-contained package from the start.
The developer, Träumendes Mädchen, confirmed in an October 2023 news post that the studio had moved on to work on their first commercial game, Chronotopia: Second Skin, which released on October 13, 2023. This post frames Garden of Oblivion as a past project and makes no mention of any planned updates or additional content for it.
There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content, and no post-launch update pattern for the game itself. The store description describes a fixed two-ending experience with no indication of ongoing additions. All evidence points to Garden of Oblivion having launched as a finished product and remaining so.
Evidence
Developer confirmed they had been busy building their first commercial game (Chronotopia: Second Skin) since Garden of Oblivion's release, with no mention of returning to or updating Garden of Oblivion.
The only DLC — the original soundtrack — was released on launch day alongside the base game. No unreleased DLC exists.

About this game

One day Reven awakens in a strange but beautiful place where the young teenager is treated like a very special guest. There are talking animals, each being rather kind and friendly. Unless the door is mentioned. The one in the back of the garden. But what could be behind that mysterious door? And why Reven isn’t allowed to go out? You shouldn’t try to know the truth…
Garden of Oblivion is a visual novel/point & click hybrid with horror elements.
- Move around and question the animals
- Solve some puzzles and try to unveil the garden's secrets
- Two different endings are available: Reven's fate is in your hands
It was originally created in a weekend for Ludum Dare 30 with "Connected Worlds" as a theme.
