Gato Roboto launched on May 30, 2019 as a self-contained metroidvania experience. The only post-launch content added was the official soundtrack, released on November 23, 2020. Since then, doinksoft has moved on to developing other games — first Gunbrella (announced October 2022) and most recently Dark Scrolls, which launched on June 22, 2026. The Dark Scrolls launch post even bundles Gato Roboto as a free bonus game for eligible purchasers, treating it as a completed back-catalog title rather than an ongoing project. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no roadmaps or promised future content for Gato Roboto, and no developer communications suggesting further updates are planned. The game shipped as a complete, finished product and remains that way.
