Gaucho and the Grassland

Gaucho and the Grassland launched on Steam on July 16, 2025 and has received consistent updates since — quality-of-life patches in the weeks following launch, a substantial cultural content update on September 20, 2025 (the Farroupilha Month update, adding a playable instrument, teleportation mechanic, historical skins, a new NPC, and more), and further patches into 2026. On June 25, 2026, the developer explicitly stated: "We're actively working on a TON of new changes, features, and surprises for the future of the game. Bigger updates, new content, and exciting expansions are already in development." The same post flagged Nintendo Switch and mobile versions as in the pipeline. Since then, the studio has been active: a revamped demo launched on July 3, 2026; the first anniversary was celebrated on July 16, 2026 with announcements of continued development; a companion mobile title called Gaucho Origins launched on Android on August 26, 2026 and on iOS on September 15, 2026. The most recent Steam post was September 15, 2026 — just three days before today's assessment date — confirming the studio is actively engaged. The developer has not announced completion of the main Steam game's content cycle. Their June 2026 statement about expansions in development remains the most current content commitment for the Steam game itself, and no subsequent post has walked it back.
