Ghost Exile is an actively developed Early Access cooperative ghost-hunting horror game that has been receiving consistent, substantial updates since its January 2022 launch. The developer, LostOneTeam, has shipped three major content updates in the period covered by the news scan (April 2025, December 2025, and May 2026), alongside numerous feature patches and bug fixes — a sustained pattern of development. The most recent major update, 1.9.0.0 "Apocalypse Part 1," shipped on May 21, 2026, followed by a feature patch on June 19, 2026. Then, on July 30, 2026 — the most recent developer communication — a new dev blog was published explicitly detailing what's coming in the next installment of the Apocalypse update: a Player Rooms customization system, a complete rework of the Warehouse map, and a new ghost type called the Ghoul. The developer noted this was "only a small glimpse" of what's being prepared and promised additional dev blog reveals.
