Goblins of Elderstone launched out of Early Access on March 8, 2023 and has been consistently updated by Outerdawn ever since. The developer shipped a series of major content updates after launch: Update 1.2 "Setting the Scene" (November 24, 2023) added scenarios and biome changes; Update 1.4 "The King's New Clothes" (June 27, 2024) added new buildings and resources; Update 1.5 "Return of the Burrows" (August 21, 2024) restored and improved a key traversal feature; and Update 1.6 "The Fat King" (November 29, 2024) brought a visual overhaul of the Goblin King and major AI rework. In April 2025, the developer announced a major engine upgrade to Unreal Engine 5 and a complete 2.0 overhaul, which shipped on February 26, 2026 as "Raid & Reforge" — the largest update to date, rebuilding the UI, replacing the Trek system with Raids, and overhauling core gameplay loops. Two bug fix patches followed in March 2026, with the most recent on March 27, 2026. The developer has not announced that development is complete or that no further content is planned. The established cadence of major updates roughly every 3–6 months since launch, combined with continued post-2.0 maintenance activity, indicates the game remains in active development. No specific future content has been announced, but Outerdawn has consistently delivered updates without long gaps and has not signaled any intention to stop.

Free-form City Building

Goblins don’t much like orderly straight lines, so there’s absolutely no way they’ll use a grid when building. They are rebellious but creative. As a result, buildings go up wherever desired, but neat little pathways and bridges will always be built alongside them to ensure they’re properly connected.

Assign your Goblins

With over 30 different resources that can be gathered, crafted, traded, or stolen, your goblins will always have plenty of work to do. Assign goblins to jobs based on their personal traits - good or bad - and employ Enforcers to keep them in line!

Survive the harsh winters

Danger lurks around every corner. Defend your tribe from roaming monsters, skeletons, and other enemies by assigning guard goblins, hiring wandering heroes, and appealing to the gods for help. And if that doesn't cut it, your goblins will be more than happy to hide indoors until the threat passes!

Explore and Raid

Send your goblins to gather loot all over Elderstone with Raids, a brand-new system replacing the old Treks. Raids are punchier, faster, and far more connected to your village’s survival.

Build your ultimate Tribe!

Marvel as your village grows and expands. There are many unique tales to unravel in this twisted land, and you will be asked to make difficult choices throughout your reign that will either help or hinder your progress.

Rule the Chaos!

Goblins aren’t really the patient, caring type. They’re better at setting fire to farms than actually growing anything. As your tribe expands, you will need to fulfill your goblins' needs and wants to ensure they survive and - hopefully - thrive!
