Evaluation

Grab the Bottle launched out of Early Access on May 22, 2017, completing a full single-player campaign of 45 levels across multiple chapters. During Early Access, the developer shipped several major content updates building out the game chapter by chapter. After the 1.0 launch, the developer released one post-launch update on October 23, 2017 (the "Autumn Update," version 1.2.0), which added language localization, balance tweaks, and bug fixes — but no new levels or story content. The post noted "More is still to come in the future," and a separate August 2017 patch mentioned ongoing work on a multiplayer mode, describing it as slow but eventual. However, by June 2018, the studio's attention had clearly shifted: they announced a Kickstarter campaign for an entirely new game, MindSeize. There have been no further updates, content announcements, or developer communications for Grab the Bottle after October 2017 — nearly nine years ago as of today. The promised multiplayer mode was never delivered, and the developer made no further mention of it after the studio pivoted to a new project. The store description reflects a self-contained, complete puzzle game with a defined story arc ("from cradle to grave"), a fixed level count, and no live service or seasonal content elements. Given the complete absence of developer communication since October 23, 2017, the studio's public pivot to a new game, and the game's self-contained design, Grab the Bottle is best understood as a finished product whose post-launch support concluded with the Autumn Update.

Studio announced a Kickstarter for an entirely new game (MindSeize), indicating their development focus had moved away from Grab the Bottle. No further Grab the Bottle updates were posted before or after this announcement.

About this game

Grab the Bottle is a quirky puzzle game in which you solve puzzles by stretching your arm through the level.

You need to maneuver an ever-extending arm to grab the goal bottle, avoiding anything hazardous on the way. To make things more tricky, Grab the Bottle brings physics and puzzles to the mix. You must grab, pull and drop objects to get to the goal bottle. On the way you will find different kinds of obstacles that need to be dealt with.

The story of the game begins in the 50s, somewhere in rural America, where one particularly strong minded baby is taking his first steps and discovers that anything is possible. Especially as he seems to have an infinitely stretchy arm.

Grab the Bottle follows the life of this boy, from cradle to grave, solving many levels of puzzles inspired by “real life problems” on the way. Central element to the story is the specific craving for bottles the main character has and the scenarios include stuff like finding precious antique bottle from an attic or just grabbing a bottle of cold beer after a hard workday.

  • Innovative, twisted way of solving puzzles by stretching and retracting your arm
  • Story mode with dozens of levels set in locations ranging from attics to amusement parks, around 7 to 10 hours total.
  • Colorful vintage comig -style graphics
  • Awesome soundtrack featuring various styles of music, reflecting different life-phases of the main character.
  • Trading cards and Achievements! Grab them all!
