Evaluation
Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar launched in August 2017 and has gone through two major content updates since then. Version 2, released on December 23, 2018, added significant new content including crafting workshops, new regions, new NPCs, and new storylines. Version 3.0.0.0 was released on May 7, 2020, which the developer described as a "clean slate" and the last identifiable major update. The developer noted the Necromancer class had been properly balanced in this update.
Since May 7, 2020, there have been no further developer communications, news posts, DLC listings, or announcements of any kind. The store description presents the game as a complete, feature-rich product ("After more than 20 years of development, the greatest roleplaying game of them all is finally ready for release"), with no mention of future updates or planned content. There are no unreleased DLC items on the store, no roadmap, and no outstanding developer promises.
The developer's own November 2018 post (NEWS-6) mentioned that "work on V3 will begin thereafter" after V2 — and V3 was subsequently delivered in May 2020, fulfilling that commitment. No further content has been announced beyond what has already shipped. With over six years of silence since the last update and no outstanding commitments, the game appears to be content-complete as of May 7, 2020.
Evidence
Version 3.0.0.0 released, described as a clean slate for further updates 'before the end of the year,' with Necromancer class balancing. This is the last known developer communication.
No developer posts, announcements, or updates of any kind have appeared since May 7, 2020 — over six years of silence as of June 2026.
