GunSoul Girl 2 launched into Early Access on March 30, 2023 as an unfinished third-person shooter, with the store page explicitly noting that the Early Access version contains 5 characters and 16 costumes — implying more is planned for the full release. After launch, the developer maintained an active development presence through 2023: a feature patch in April 2023, another in May 2023 (which also teased 2 new characters, a new map, and costumes for a July/August 2023 update), a development status post in November 2023 acknowledging a delay caused by the developer's personal health, and then the major 1.11b update on November 25, 2023 that delivered the promised new characters Elina and Yukino along with a new appreciation scene. A follow-up bug fix patch was posted on January 29, 2024. Since January 29, 2024, however, there has been complete silence from the developer. The game remains in Early Access with no communicated roadmap, no 1.0 release date, and no indication of what content remains to be delivered before the game is considered complete. Given that the last post was on January 29, 2024 — more than 17 months before today's date of June 21, 2026 — this extended silence raises real questions about whether active development is continuing. The developer previously acknowledged health-related delays, but no subsequent communication has addressed the current state of the project.
