Hack and Slime

Hack and Slime entered Steam Early Access on June 1, 2022, with the developer (BULLWARESOFT, a solo project by Odín Campoy) actively posting monthly updates and working on a significant engine port from Construct 3 to Unity throughout 2023 and into early 2024. The Unity port introduced sweeping changes — new characters, expanded skill systems, improved lighting, and more enemies — and was accompanied by an open beta branch on Steam where players could test weekly builds. However, on June 8, 2024, Odín Campoy posted a definitive announcement stating that Hack and Slime has been permanently canceled due to a lack of staff. The post explicitly described the project as "definitively canceled" and offered a heartfelt farewell, acknowledging the years of work invested. This is the last known official communication from the developer. The game remains purchasable on Steam in its Early Access state, but development has ended. Buyers should be aware that the game will not reach a 1.0 release and will remain in an unfinished Early Access form indefinitely.
