Hand of Fate 2

Hand of Fate 2 launched on November 7, 2017 and received an active run of post-launch content throughout 2018. Three paid DLC expansions shipped: Outlands and Outsiders (June 13, 2018), The Servant and the Beast (October 15, 2018), and A Cold Hearth (December 12, 2018). Several free updates also shipped during this period, including a new Goblin enemy faction (May 9, 2018) and a Combat Reforged overhaul (September 6, 2018). All four items in the DLC listing are marked as released, with nothing remaining unreleased. Developer activity on Hand of Fate 2 ended after December 2018. Defiant Development, the original studio, subsequently closed. A July 22, 2026 post from Spitfire Interactive — a new studio formed by former Defiant alumni — confirms this, explaining that they are returning to the Hand of Fate universe with a brand-new title, Hand of Fate: Hordes, which launched into Early Access on that date. This post makes clear that Defiant Development is gone and that Hand of Fate 2 itself is not receiving further development. The new studio's announcements (March 2025, June 2026, July 2026) are all focused entirely on Hand of Fate: Hordes, not Hand of Fate 2. With all announced DLC shipped, no unreleased content in the store listing, the original developer closed, and no further content communicated for Hand of Fate 2 since December 2018, the game is a finished product. The A Cold Hearth DLC, released on December 12, 2018, marks the point at which all content was complete.
