Hard West 2

Hard West 2 launched on August 4, 2022 and received a balance and bug-fix patch (Patch 1) on August 30, 2022, followed by one substantive free content update — the "After Dark Update" on October 17, 2022 — which added a new level, a new weapon, and two new difficulty settings. That represents the full extent of post-launch content additions to the game. Since then, the developer (Ice Code Games) has pivoted to other projects. A September 2024 post promoted their new game Rogue Waters, and a May 2025 announcement introduced yet another new title, Nightmare Frontier, which launched on June 16, 2025. Notably, both of these posts explicitly stated that "the future of the Hard West franchise is yet to be told" and "the next chapter of the Hard West saga remains unwritten" — language that signals no committed plans for further Hard West 2 content exist. The June 2025 post also delivered a minor bug-fix patch that had reportedly been sitting unreleased for some time, described as something the team "stumbled upon while working on Nightmare Frontier." This confirms the studio has moved on and is no longer actively developing Hard West 2. No DLC was ever listed on the store, no roadmap was published for additional content beyond what shipped, and the developer's own communications make clear that their attention is now on new titles. The game launched as a complete experience and its one free post-launch content update was delivered in October 2022.
