Evaluation
Haunted Arcade officially launched at version 1.0 on August 19, 2024. At launch, the developer explicitly stated that two significant features were still unfinished: Memory Items (hidden collectibles that reveal the Ghost's backstory) and a fundamental redesign of the Hooked on Art arcade game, intended to serve as a more satisfying story climax. The developer committed to delivering these after launch.
Following the 1.0 release, the game received seasonal updates through the rest of 2024 — a Halloween Update in October and a Christmas Update in November — as well as the Blooming Update in March 2025. The March 29, 2025 post confirmed the developer was still actively working on the Hooked on Art redesign and set a personal deadline of March 31, 2025. However, that deadline was acknowledged as likely to be missed, and no further posts have appeared since then.
As of June 20, 2026 — nearly 15 months after the last developer communication — it is uncertain whether the Hooked on Art overhaul and Memory Items feature have been completed or abandoned. The developer has not announced the conclusion of development or provided any update on the status of these outstanding features.
