HAWKEN REBORN

Hawken Reborn entered Steam Early Access on May 17, 2023 as a free-to-play PVE mech game. Over the following year and a half, the team shipped several significant updates — Update 0.2 (October 2023) unlocked a new zone and added new mechs and weapons; Update 0.3 introduced multiplayer co-op; Update 0.4 (September 2024) added co-op matchmaking improvements and new gameplay systems; and Update 0.5 (November 2024) introduced a new PVPVE mode, a new zone, and additional mechs. However, on December 24, 2024, the developers published a blog post explicitly announcing that they are pausing all further development on Hawken Reborn in its current state. The post acknowledged the game's troubled journey and stated the team needs to make far more significant changes than are possible in the existing build. The game will remain available on Steam indefinitely, but the team said they are "going dark" — no further updates, content, or communications — until they are able to release an entirely new version of a Hawken game. No timeline or roadmap for that future release was provided. The game remains in Early Access and has never reached a 1.0 release. Development has effectively been suspended with outstanding early access promises unfulfilled. The developer's last communication was on December 24, 2024, and no updates have followed.
