Heartopia

Heartopia is a free-to-play multiplayer life simulation game that launched on Steam on January 16, 2026, and is built around an ongoing live service content model. Since launch, the developer has maintained a very high-frequency content cadence, with major seasonal events called "Fashionwaves," branded collaborations, limited-time exhibitions, and regular feature patches dropping on a near-weekly basis. The current "Call of Whales" Fashionwave launched on July 11, 2026 and runs through August 22, 2026. It introduced an entirely new underwater area (Whalefall Canyon), a new Ocean Cleanup hobby, new collectibles, limited crops, fish, insects, and birds, plus concerts and treasure hunt activities. A collaboration with Dave the Diver launched on August 8, 2026, and a new Gilded Acorn Exhibition called "Lost in The Forest" was announced for August 15, 2026. The developer posted a bug fix update as recently as August 12, 2026. Earlier major content drops include the Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf collaboration (March 28, 2026), a Hide & Seek Party version update announced for May 28, 2026, and SANRIO CHARACTERS content referenced in patch notes. The developer also expanded language support to Russian and Indonesian in April 2026 and introduced team-based gameplay features like the Beaver Build Challenge. This game is designed to never be "done" — it continuously rotates new cosmetics, events, collaborations, and gameplay systems for its playerbase, funded through in-game purchases like Fashionwave Gift Boxes and premium passes. There is no indication of any winding down of this content operation.
