Heaven Island Life launched on April 21, 2016 as an HTC Vive VR experience and received minor post-launch updates including Steam trading cards in late April 2016 and an artworks DLC on December 21, 2016. For several years after that, the developer was silent.
Then, on August 6, 2025, the developer posted an announcement promising "a new update with improved graphics and bug fixes" coming "next month" (implying September 2025), along with news that the game would be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in an enhanced edition. Nearly identical language appeared again in a March 7, 2026 post, which additionally mentioned a new DLC alongside the same graphics/bug fix update and Switch 2 edition — suggesting the originally promised September 2025 update had not yet shipped by that point.
As of June 27, 2026, there is no confirmation that either the promised update or the Switch 2 enhanced edition has been released. The developer's repeated announcement of the same update without any follow-up confirmation of delivery raises uncertainty about whether the promised content is still on track.

"Heaven Island Life" is an experience designed for the HTC Vive in which you'll explore wonderful places. The inspiration for the environments comes from the Renzo Piano designs and from the book "Origins of Architectural Pleasure" in which the welfare is of primary importance.
In this updated version you'll be able to interact with a lot of objects in the environment thanks to your "Soul controllers".
- With right controller (trigger) you'll be able to teleport to different places on the island
- With left controller (trigger) you'll be able to create stones that you can use to create zen gardens or throw them in the sea
WARNING: The game runs only with the HTC Vive.
