Hedon Bloodrite launched in May 2019 and received its major sequel campaign as a free update on August 30, 2021. The sole paid DLC, the Extra Thicc Edition (a soundtrack and cosmetics pack), released on February 11, 2022. Feature patches continued through January 5, 2024, when the developer shipped update 2.4.2 — and explicitly noted in that post that Hedon "has shifted away from being my main project" and that "the more I keep working on Hedon, the smaller the adjustments become," signaling that substantial development work on the game is winding down in favor of a new game.
The two posts since January 2024 — dated November 22, 2024 and August 1, 2025 — are announcements of fan-made community maps created by third-party contributors (Doomax and Blake respectively), hosted externally on Doomworld and not shipped as official game content on Steam. The developer celebrated these fan works but did not announce any new first-party content, updates, or roadmap items alongside them. These posts indicate ongoing community engagement but do not constitute developer-produced content additions to the game itself.
The last first-party content update was January 5, 2024. The developer's own words in that update describe a game in a maintenance/polish phase rather than active content development.
