Evaluation
HENPRI is a visual novel from Qruppo, published by Shiravune, which launched on Steam on March 3, 2025. The game's store description presents a complete, self-contained story with no mention of additional chapters, DLC, or post-launch content. There are no DLC listings for this game, and no developer communications announce any planned expansions or updates beyond the base release. The only post-launch news post (March 4, 2025) was a launch announcement that focused on promoting the game's availability and cross-promoting other Shiravune titles — it contained no hints of upcoming content for HENPRI itself. Visual novels of this type are typically released as finished products, and nothing in the developer's communications suggests otherwise. The game is complete as shipped.

About this game
STORY
Tulip Prison—a special penitentiary filled with criminals from all over Japan who have been deemed too far gone to rehabilitate. As the “phantom precinct” of the justice system, its facilities occupy an inescapable island that stands alone on the open sea.
Shuichiro Minato—a young man who lives in Tokyo. Amid the Christmas lighting one beautiful winter night, he was arrested as a public nuisance.
Shuichiro defended himself in court, describing his acts as self-expression—art—but no one could understand him. He was sentenced to ten years of penal servitude for being a pest and resisting arrest. What's more, he was deemed too far gone to rehabilitate... and thrown into Tulip Prison. In a modern-day dungeon with monsters in human skin around every corner, can one brave annoyance survive?
Whatever the future holds, one thing is for sure: This prison ain't no paradise.
CHARACTERS

Prisoner #0545: HANAMARU (Voice: Haru Amachi)
A self-possessed woman who treats Shuichiro kindly and becomes the first person he opens up to. She offers him generous advice on the best ways to survive in the prison’s harsh environment. Her nickname is “Cultmaster.”
“My little sister and I were just pulling a prank...”

Prisoner #0721: KUREBAYASHI (Voice: Hajime Fumizuki)
On the outside, she earned the nickname “Drone Girl” for her dealings with secret recordings—in Tulip Prison, she’s just another prisoner. She prefers to be alone and makes sure she’ll get to stay that way by driving people away with her sharp-tongued hostility.
“I do not like owing people favors. It would be no exaggeration to say I actually hate it.”
