Evaluation

Hexagon Knockout is a free-to-play multiplayer bumper car game created by a group of students, released on August 31, 2021. The game launched as a complete, finished product with 12 game modes and online/offline multiplayer. Post-launch, the developers shipped two notable updates: a first anniversary update on August 31, 2022 (adding hat customization and achievements), and a third anniversary update on August 30, 2024 (adding a solo Training Zone mode, improved online netcode, wider screen resolution support, and additional achievements). These updates were celebratory milestones rather than part of a regular content cadence — the developers have historically released one meaningful update per year on or around the game's anniversary. The most recent developer communication was the August 30, 2024 anniversary post. That update's tone was reflective and celebratory, thanking players for reaching 70,000 downloads and framing the Training Zone as something they "always wanted to add" but never had time for — language that reads as wrapping up a lingering to-do rather than opening a new chapter. No future content, roadmap, or planned updates were announced in that post or anywhere else. There is no DLC, no season pass, and no outstanding commitments. The update pattern (roughly one small update per year, tied to anniversaries) is not a sustained major content cadence, and the last update in August 2024 marked the game's third anniversary with no indication of a fourth. The game appears to have been delivered as a complete student project, with occasional goodwill updates from the team. As of June 2026, no further updates have followed the August 2024 post, and the evidence points to the game having reached its natural conclusion.
Evidence
Third anniversary update added a Training Zone mode, improved online consistency, and broader resolution support. Framed as completing a long-standing wish list item. No future updates or roadmap mentioned.

About this game

Enter the arena and be the last survivor! Your vehicle is equipped with a rocket launcher placed at the rear of your car. To win against your opponents, you will have to dodge, drift, and shoot at the right time: be careful not to fall!

In order to achieve victory, it will be necessary to triumph 5 times against the other players. If you fall, you won't respawn until the next round so be careful of your surroundings. The ground gradually crumbles as time goes by, and there won't be much room for the last survivors.

The main mechanic of the game is to fire a rocket from the back of your car. This can be used in different situations to your advantage:
  • Hit a player with the rocket to knock him out
  • The rocket gives you a speed boost allowing you to dodge
  • This same bonus allows you to bump other vehicles to push them
  • If you are about to die, you can try to get back on the ground if you shoot at the right time

Each round, a new game mode is applied to the game. You will come across 12 alternative ruleset:
  • Classic
  • Keep the Crown
  • Donut
  • Bumpers
  • Huge Cars
  • Tic Tac Boom
  • Rocket Rain
  • Tokyo Drift
  • Sniper
  • Fast Shoot
  • Gotta Go Fast
  • Kamikaze
It's up to you to discover their effects with your friends!
