hexceed launched on January 15, 2021 as a free-to-play puzzle game and received five years of paid DLC content packs. On March 3, 2025, the developer explicitly announced Year 5 as "the fifth and final year of hexceed," outlining six DLC packs to be released throughout 2025. All six shipped as planned: Aquila (March 28), Centaurus (May 23), Capricornus (July 25), Cetus (September 26), Sirius (November 21), and Alphard (December 19). When the final pack, Alphard, released on December 19, 2025, the developer confirmed it was "the final DLC of hexceed," added a special 100% completion achievement, and thanked players for their support "all the way to the end." All 42 DLC entries in the store listing are marked as released, with no further content announced. The developer's birthday post on August 17, 2026 reaffirmed this, explicitly stating "we wrapped up DLC development last year" and noting that ongoing activity for hexceed consists only of porting to Xbox and Nintendo Switch — no new puzzle content. Bug-fix patches (such as the August 10, 2026 hotfix) continue for maintenance purposes, but the game's content is complete.
