Hexologic launched on May 29, 2018 as a complete hexagonal puzzle game. After launch, MythicOwl delivered two major free content updates: the first in September 2018 added 36 new levels, 2 new worlds, new hex types, and new difficulty settings. The second, released on May 18, 2021, introduced an Infinite Mode — a procedurally generated puzzle system that responds to player feedback that the game was too short. A hotfix followed on May 21, 2021 to address achievement tracking issues. Since May 2021, there have been no further content updates, only periodic sale announcements (most recently June 26, 2025 for Steam Summer Sale). The developer's communication since 2021 has been limited to promotional posts for this game and announcements about their newer titles (Planetiles, Harmony's Odyssey, Truckful). The store description describes a fixed set of 6 worlds and over 90 levels, with no mention of ongoing or upcoming content. No unreleased DLC is listed. With no outstanding commitments and developer activity clearly focused on newer projects, the game's content appears complete as of the Infinite Mode update on May 18, 2021.
