On December 7, 2025, the developer published a clear statement about the game's future: major updates are effectively over, with only minor bug fixes possible going forward. The developer explicitly stated "The game already offers a complete experience, meaning its development is finished." They also noted that low sales and player counts have made continued development unviable, and that several planned features (such as a Protoss faction and a full texture overhaul) have been cancelled. The studio's lead developer is now fully focused on their next game, "Unconventional Fantasy."
Despite this, the game remains in Steam Early Access (the Early Access flag has not been removed), and the store page has not been updated to reflect the 1.0 launch state. The developer mentioned they plan to "officially launch it when the right time comes," suggesting a formal 1.0 release is still pending. Because the Early Access flag remains active on the store, the game is assessed as Early Access regardless of the internal development status the team has communicated.
In practical terms, players should understand that HG Adventure is functionally complete in the developer's eyes — no meaningful new content is coming. The game will receive at most minor bug fixes before an eventual formal launch.
