Highway Police Simulator launched on December 5, 2024, and Z-Software has maintained a consistent pattern of post-launch support ever since. The developer shipped a roadmap on launch day, then followed up with feature patches roughly every 1–3 months throughout 2025 and into 2026.
On November 27, 2025, the developer explicitly stated "Highway Police Simulator is anything but dead. Our team continues to work on the game, on improvements, and on new content," and previewed that "early next year, we will announce the next step for Highway Police Simulator." That next step materialized as the S.W.A.T. DLC, announced on April 23, 2026 and released on May 26, 2026 — adding 7 new missions, a tactical vehicle, and exclusive gear alongside a substantial free base-game update (version 1.1.0).
The most recent developer communication is the version 1.1.1 patch released on July 14, 2026, which addressed bugs in both the base game and SWAT DLC. In that post, the developer stated they "will continue to support the game in the coming weeks and months" and outlined plans for a video campaign in the near term.
