Evaluation
Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! launched on July 13, 2015 and received its only DLC — Spud Tales: Journey to Olympus — on November 13, 2015. Following the base game's launch, Daylight Studios' post-launch activity for this title consisted of localization updates and stability patches through early 2016, followed by a cross-promotional feature patch in October 2017 that added free weapon sets tied to other games in the series. The studio's development focus visibly shifted toward new entries in the Holy Potatoes! franchise — Holy Potatoes! We're in Space?! (February 2017), Holy Potatoes! What the Hell?! (October 2017), and Holy Potatoes! A Spy Story?! (November 2018) — rather than new content for A Weapon Shop?!. The most recent developer communication for this game was a minor bug fix update on September 29, 2020, which addressed a progression-blocking issue. No new content has been announced, no additional DLC has been listed, and Daylight Studios has made no statements suggesting further updates are planned. The game appears to have launched as a complete product and received only maintenance support after its single DLC shipped in 2015.
