The developer's post-launch focus has shifted entirely to a sequel, School 666. Starting in August 2024, the developer announced, demoed, playtested, and — as of a May 1, 2025 post — confirmed a June 12, 2025 release date for School 666. The May 2025 post also notably mentioned the developer had "finally finished this game and dealt with a lot of funding issues," referring to School 666. All subsequent news posts on Hospital 666's store page are either School 666 announcements or bug fixes for the original game.
