Hot Wheels Unleashed launched on September 30, 2021 and received a substantial post-launch content program throughout its first year. The developer shipped three season passes (Pass Vol. 1, 2, and 3), multiple themed expansions (Batman, Monster Trucks, and Looney Tunes), and dozens of individual vehicle and customization packs — all of which have been released. On September 30, 2022, Milestone released the Game of the Year Edition, bundling the base game with all three passes and the most popular content from that year, effectively marking the conclusion of the game's post-launch content cycle. All 67 DLC items listed on the store are marked as released, with the last one shipping on August 25, 2022 (the Fun Pack) and the GOTY Upgrade Pack closing things out on September 30, 2022. Developer communications after that point shifted focus entirely to the sequel: a May 2023 announcement post revealed Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged, which launched on October 19, 2023. There have been no posts announcing further content for the original game, no unreleased DLC listed, and no developer statements suggesting ongoing support. The sequel's release, combined with the GOTY Edition bundling all content, signals that development on the original game concluded in late 2022.
