HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed launched out of Early Access on April 27, 2020 and has since received 13 major free content updates, with Major Update #13 shipping on November 11, 2023 adding new game modes, weapons, characters, bosses, and a networking overhaul. The game also launched on Xbox with crossplay support on May 31, 2024, which was the last major development milestone announced and delivered. The most important signal for long-term content status comes from a developer post on November 7, 2022 (NEWS-6), in which Digital Cybercherries explicitly stated that Hypercharge would "receive its final chapter" the following year and that after it, the game would not receive new content — only quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes. Specifically, they wrote: "Hypercharge is our priority; however, it will receive its final chapter (so to speak) next year. Please note this does not mean that it will not receive any quality-of-life improvements. We intend to fix bugs and improve aspects of the game after its final update." That final chapter — comprising the story campaign, survival mode, platform launches, and UI improvements — was delivered across Major Updates #12 (March 27, 2023) and #13 (November 11, 2023), and the Xbox/crossplay launch (May 31, 2024). The developer's update history confirms all promised content has shipped: the story campaign (Update #12), new game modes and weapons (Update #13), and cross-platform play with Xbox (May 2024). All three DLC items listed on the store are released, and none are marked unreleased. The last developer communication was the crossplay announcement on May 23, 2024. There are no announced future updates, no unreleased DLC, and no roadmap pointing to additional content. The developer's own statement that the game was receiving its "final chapter" has been fulfilled by subsequent releases. With 13 major free content updates delivered over roughly four years, all explicitly promised content shipped, and the developer having signaled conclusion of the content roadmap, the game can be considered complete as of the Xbox/crossplay launch on May 31, 2024.

Grab a second controller and jump in! Hypercharge lets you play the entire game in Split-Screen, with up to four-player co-op and PvP, both Online and Local. Team up and experience it all side-by-side on the couch.

Don’t have a team to play with? Don’t worry, we’ve got you solo players covered. Player bots listen to your commands, collect resources, and even help to build defences.
