Illyriad - Grand Strategy MMO

Illyriad is a long-running MMO strategy game that has been actively receiving content updates and improvements throughout its history. After a quieter period, the developer signaled a major renaissance in an August 2025 status update, which detailed two years of improvements including new server hardware, new game designers, rewritten and expanded factions (Eaglesbrood, Dragonkin, Gigantes, Cyclopes), the introduction of dragon and giant eagle units, 155 new faction outposts placed on the map, and significant combat system updates including unit speed increases. The developer also noted that a major new Faction AI system — which has been in development for approximately three years — was around 90% complete at that time, with a targeted end-of-2025 MVP launch. Content updates have continued into 2026: a Heart of Corruption quest milestone was celebrated in February 2026 alongside a new tournament, further siege warfare combat updates shipped in early 2026, and as recently as June 18, 2026 the developer announced a new August 2026 Dragon Magic Tournament featuring the game's first magical military unit — the White Wyrm. The store description itself references "frequent updates and new releases." No end-of-development announcement has been made; on the contrary, the developer has consistently communicated ongoing investment and new content plans.
