Evaluation
IMMORTALITY launched on August 30, 2022 as a self-contained interactive film trilogy. The game was designed and released as a complete, finite narrative experience — three films, one mystery, a definitive conclusion. There is no DLC, no season pass, and no announced post-launch content of any kind.
Post-launch developer activity has been limited to maintenance: two bug-fix patches shipped in September and December 2022 to address technical issues. In April 2023, the game was ported to Mac, expanding its availability but not adding new content. In February 2024, the developer announced a partnership with Lost in Cult to produce a premium physical companion book and soundtrack release — a collector's item celebrating the game, not an extension of it.
No roadmap, no expansion, and no future content has ever been announced. The developer's communications since launch have consistently treated the game as a finished work. IMMORTALITY shipped as a complete product on its release date.

About this game
Match cut your own path through the footage and solve the mystery:

IMMORTALITY is an interactive trilogy from Sam Barlow, creator of Her Story. Use the cinematic ability to teleport from scene to scene to explore a treasure trove of newly unearthed footage from the three lost films of Marissa Marcel and traverse decades of movie history:

Alan Fischer directs Ambrosio his adaptation of M. G. Lewis’s notorious Gothic novel The Monk. He casts unknown Marissa Marcel as the infamous Matilda.

John Durick writes his thriller Minsky with Marcel in mind. Set in New York City, the movie concerns the death of a famous artist and Marissa stars as the muse suspected of murdering him.

For his swansong, Durick teams up with Marcel again as she returns from a lengthy hiatus. The movie Two of Everything is a subversive thriller which explores the duality between a successful pop star and her body double.

None of these movies was ever released. They were thought to be lost or destroyed. Until now.
