Evaluation
Impasto is a free-to-play first-person horror adventure game created by undergraduate students at USC and partner schools. It launched on November 2, 2022, and received a flurry of bug fix and quality-of-life patches through January 15, 2023 — the date of its last known update.
On launch day (November 3, 2022), the development team posted that they were "working on some exciting new stuff for fans of Impasto" and to stay tuned. However, that teaser was followed by nothing beyond routine bug fixes, and the last developer communication of any kind was the January 15, 2023 patch. No new content, expansion, or major update has been announced or released since then, and no unreleased DLC is listed on the store. Given that this was a student project with no post-launch content cadence and over three years of silence since the last update, the launch-day teaser was either referring to minor post-launch polish (which shipped) or was simply not acted upon. The game appears to have concluded its post-launch support cycle.
The only DLC — the official soundtrack — was released on December 28, 2022, and there are no further items listed. The game launched as a complete, finished product, and all post-launch activity was limited to bug fixes wrapping up in early 2023.
Evidence
Official soundtrack released as the only DLC. No unreleased DLC items listed.
Game described as a student-made project by undergraduate students — a self-contained, complete horror adventure game with no mention of future content, seasons, or ongoing updates.

THE STORY
"To my dear Mariano..."A mysterious letter of inheritance. A dark and foreboding manor. Grim and disturbing figures painted upon the very walls. A swirling canvas beckoning you to step closer, through the black ocean of paint into a world that's lost all reason.
Follow the path of Mariano Goya as he enters the dark and twisted Painted World of his grandfather, the famed and tortured artist Francisco Goya, in order to uncover his secret legacy. Plunge deep into the tragic fall of one of history's greatest artists and come face to face with his darkest creations brought to life.
Meet the distorted denizens who reside within the paint, navigate through the shadowed streets of a town brought to heel by the brutal inquisition, and explore the ancient ruins of a forgotten old god. You must evade the Painted World’s many dangers, solve its puzzles, and uncover its dark secrets, in a journey both to return home and to discover what could give birth to this land of nightmares.
