Inspector Waffles launched on March 23, 2021 and received several patches and feature updates over the following year. On June 1, 2022, the developer Yann posted the 1.0.3 update and was explicit that this would be the last major update for the game, stating he would be moving on to focus on future projects. Since then, the only update to this game was a minor maintenance patch on November 3, 2025 that fixed a Unity security vulnerability and updated menu links — consistent with the earlier statement that major development was complete.
The developer's energy has since gone into the broader Inspector Waffles universe: a prequel game, Inspector Waffles Early Days, launched on November 17, 2024, and a new anthology title, Waffles' Cranked Stories, has been announced for a future release. A separate new game, Antenna Dilemma, is also in development. None of this represents new content for the original Inspector Waffles — these are separate titles.
The only DLC listed for the game is the soundtrack, which released on March 26, 2021. There are no unreleased DLC items. The original game is a complete, standalone experience with no further content planned.
