INVITATION To FEAR

INVITATION To FEAR launched on November 24, 2021 as a 1–4 player online co-op survival horror game. In the months following launch, the solo developer (CHEST BOX) was actively engaged: they shipped multiple feature patches improving difficulty, stamina mechanics, enemy AI behavior, and language support, and posted bug-fix updates through June 15, 2022. In December 2021 and March 2022, the developer publicly floated the idea of adding a new map with different game rules, including a player questionnaire about monster types. However, no new map was ever announced as complete or formally committed to, and no DLC was listed on the store. The March 2022 update note mentioned the new map was "in the works" but acknowledged it would take time and hoped to "add some maps for mini-games" — language that is aspirational rather than a firm commitment. After June 15, 2022, all developer communication stopped. There have been no news posts, patches, or announcements of any kind since that date. The game has no unreleased DLC listed on the store, no season pass, and no structured post-launch content cycle. The developer's two major content updates (enemy behavior expansion in June 2022 and the world-building lore patch in April 2022) represent the extent of the post-launch content work. Given the absence of any developer communication since June 15, 2022, the lack of any formal content commitments, and no unreleased DLC on the store, the game appears to have reached the end of its active development. The new map idea mentioned in early posts was never formally announced and was never followed through, so it does not represent an outstanding commitment. The game as it stands is a complete, self-contained product.
