ISLANDERS

ISLANDERS launched on April 4, 2019 and received a series of feature updates in its first year — new buildings, sandbox mode, platform ports, and quality-of-life improvements. The original developers (GrizzlyGames) stated in the June 19, 2019 update that they were approaching the point where everything they wanted to add had been implemented, and that they were "slowly getting ready to move on to new projects." Further updates followed under Coatsink, including a December 2022 content update adding Christmas content, controller support, and new island types, and a February 2023 Valentine's Day patch adding sandbox improvements and a friends leaderboard. That February 9, 2023 post is the last developer communication directed at the original ISLANDERS game itself. The previous evaluation flagged a content_planned warning because the 2025 roadmap promising monthly updates was posted to this game's Steam page. However, that roadmap — and the sequel launch announcements — were all explicitly about ISLANDERS: New Shores (App ID 2368930), a separate, separately-sold product. The posts appeared on this page because Coatsink used the original ISLANDERS Steam news feed to promote the sequel to its existing audience. No post announces new content for the original ISLANDERS game itself. The mobile launch in November 2025 was similarly for ISLANDERS: Mobile, a separate product. The 2025 roadmap's commitment to "monthly free updates throughout the rest of 2025" referred to ISLANDERS: New Shores, not this game. Now that the roadmap period has fully elapsed (it covered the rest of 2025, and today is October 8, 2026), there is no outstanding commitment to the original ISLANDERS. The last substantive update to this game was the Valentine's Day patch on February 9, 2023. No developer statement announces additional content for the original game, and the original developers signaled as far back as 2019 that they were wrapping up development. The game is complete.
