Islands of Insight launched on February 13, 2024. After its release, the developer shipped a content patch (Version 1.1.0b on April 16, 2024) adding new puzzles and enclaves, and then released an Offline Mode on July 9, 2024 as a major feature addition. On September 30, 2024, Lunarch Studios published an explicit statement confirming that the October 30, 2024 update would be the game's final update. The studio stated: "There are no plans for more content to support the offline version" and explained they were moving on to new projects. On October 30, 2024, the online servers were shut down and the game was permanently converted to offline-only play. This is an unambiguous developer statement that development has concluded. The game remains purchasable and fully playable in its offline-only form, but no further content or bug fixes are planned.
