Job Simulator launched on April 5, 2016 as a complete VR experience. The developer shipped several feature patches after launch, adding platform support (Oculus Touch in December 2016, Valve Index in July 2019), accessibility features (subtitles and language support in April 2020), and performance improvements. The one major free content update — Infinite Overtime — shipped on October 23, 2017, adding an endless randomized task mode across all jobs.
Most recently, on August 12, 2026 — just five days before today's assessment — Owlchemy Labs announced a Kickstarter campaign for **Job Simulator: Human Relations**, a new entry in the Job Simulator universe. The developer is actively seeking backers and playtesters to help shape its development. This represents a clear signal that new Job Simulator content is in active development and coming in the future, even if it will be a separate release rather than a direct update to this game on Steam.
