Joy Pony launched on August 15, 2017 as a casual pet-raising simulation. After launch, the developer released a Mac OS version on August 18, 2017 and posted a brief note on December 2, 2017 mentioning plans for bug fixes. The most recent developer communication was a feature patch on July 12, 2018 — a "Japanese Spring" update that added new clothes, hairstyles, food, toys, furniture, wallpapers, and a Japanese environment, along with new achievements. Since that July 2018 update, there have been no further communications, announcements, or updates from the developer. No future content has been announced, no unreleased DLC exists on the store, and the game has no seasonal or live-service structure. The last meaningful content update was in July 2018, and the game appears to have shipped as a self-contained product with no further development activity in the years since.
