KAKU: Ancient Seal graduated from Early Access to its 1.0 full release on July 12, 2024. Prior to launch, the developer explicitly promised that "the launch of the full version is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a new adventure," and a pre-release FAQ confirmed that new content was planned after the initial stabilization period.
Following the 1.0 launch, the developer delivered on this by shipping one free post-launch content update: the Furious Trial update on September 2, 2024, which added a new challenge mode, 12 new boss equipment items, and a new reward for completing in-game collections.
After that update, developer activity shifted toward a console port. On September 2, 2025, the team announced that a console release was coming in October 2025, and on October 17, 2025, they confirmed that KAKU: Ancient Seal had launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The console announcement specifically described the game as the "complete open-world adventure" — language suggesting the content package is considered whole and final.
There have been no developer announcements of additional PC content, further DLC, roadmaps, or expansion plans since the Furious Trial update in September 2024. The two DLC items listed on the store (a launch bonus pack and the soundtrack) were both released on launch day and there is no unreleased DLC. KAKU: Ancient Seal is an open world ARPG game with an ancient fantasy theme. Set in a primordial era, this world was created by the elemental power of the Creator Saga. One day, a calamity from another realm strikes, causing the dispersion of the elemental souls, and the world splits into four continents, while the Creator Saga goes missing.Millennia later, a young man named Kaku, living in the vast snowy mountains, along with Piggy, a flying pig, shoulders the task of finding the lost elemental souls under the guidance of a lost prophecy. They embark on an ancient and fantastical adventure to uncover the truth behind the calamity and the mystery of their own origins.
