Kandria launched on January 11, 2023, and Shirakumo Games had two post-launch content milestones planned from the start, both tied to Kickstarter stretch goals: a polished Level Editor and full Modding Support. The Level Editor update shipped on March 8, 2023, and the Japanese localization patch followed on April 12, 2023. In April 2023, the developer noted that a "second and final major update" with an official modding API was still coming, framing it as the last planned content milestone. However, that final modding API update was never announced as shipped. After April 2023, developer communications shifted entirely to bug fixes and hotfixes — no further major content posts or announcements were made. The developer's own April 2023 post described stepping back from Kandria development to focus on other projects and "pre-pre-production for the next game," signaling that the game's active development phase was winding down. The most recent activity consists of a wave of bug fix hotfixes in January and February 2026 — addressing crashes, compatibility issues, and platform-specific bugs. While these indicate the developer is still responsive to player-reported issues, maintenance patches of this kind do not reflect new content development. Given the long gap since any major content (last major content release was April 12, 2023), the developer's own statement that the game's content work was nearly complete, and the absence of any announced future content, Kandria reads as a finished game. The promised modding API update was either quietly folded into the March 2023 Level Editor release (which included partial modding support via mod.io) or was ultimately not delivered as a separate major update — in either case, no explicit promise of this content appears in any post after April 2023, and no roadmap or announcement of it has resurfaced. The April 12, 2023 Japanese localization patch represents the last major content addition to the game.
