Kemono Mahjong

Kemono Mahjong launched on January 11, 2021 and has been continuously updated by its solo developer ever since. Notable additions over the years include a 3-player (Sanma) mode in December 2021, Japanese voice acting in April 2022, a Replays mode in January 2023, gamepad support in August 2024, a new winning condition (Mangan at Draw / Nagashi Mangan) in January 2025, and most recently Steam Deck and gamepad refinements on July 14, 2025. This represents a sustained pattern of developer engagement spanning over four and a half years. The developer has not announced any specific upcoming content, nor have they indicated development has concluded. The most recent update was on July 14, 2025 — well within the historical pattern of updates arriving every few months to a year. No signals suggest the developer has stepped away from the project.
