Killer Chat! Original Edition launched on November 28, 2025 as a free-to-play satirical serial killer dating sim. It shipped with a robust set of DLC on launch day, followed by a Wallpaper Bundle on December 15, 2025, and a surprise Christmas expansion with new voice acting and music on December 22, 2025. On August 28, 2026, the developer made a major announcement: Killer Chat! Expanded Edition is in development — a dramatically larger version of the game featuring over 300,000 words (five times the size of Original Edition), four love interests with expanded branching routes, 20+ endings, full voice acting, an original soundtrack, and many new gameplay systems. A demo and alpha playtest are already available. Alongside this, the developer has announced two DLCs tied to the Expanded Edition — "Heatwaves DLC" (romance routes for two additional characters) and "Killing Spree DLC" (an alternate-perspective story) — both wishlisted on Steam but not yet released. The developer is clearly still very active with the Killer Chat! franchise, with the most recent communication dated August 28, 2026. While the Expanded Edition and its associated DLCs are separate Steam listings from this Original Edition, the developer's ongoing creative work signals continued investment in the series.
