King of Meat launched on October 2, 2025 (early access for pre-orders) with full release on October 7, 2025. The game received several updates in its first months, including the Meat Baby Update (November 4, 2025), the Winter Update (November 19, 2025), and Live Patch 4 (December 1, 2025). On February 23, 2026, Amazon Game Studios announced that the game had not found the audience they hoped for and that they were concluding their investment. The announcement confirmed that King of Meat's servers would close on April 9, 2026, and that all players who purchased the game would receive full refunds. The game is no longer available for purchase — no purchase options exist on the store — confirming it has been removed from sale. The server shutdown date of April 9, 2026 has now passed (today is July 23, 2026), meaning the game's online services are no longer operational.

Following the launch of King of Meat, it's been incredibly rewarding to watch the community enjoy this fun and chaotic world.

Despite the creativity and innovation Glowmade brought to King of Meat, the game has unfortunately not found the audience we hoped for. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to conclude our investment in the game, and King of Meat's servers will close on April 9, 2026. Players will be able to access and play all existing content until then, so we encourage you to enjoy your remaining time in the game with your fellow Contenders.

All players who purchased King of Meat will receive a full refund in the coming weeks from their platform provider.
