Evaluation
Kingsvein launched on January 16, 2024 and has received a consistent stream of updates from developer Rad Codex ever since. Five major content updates have shipped post-launch: a new Crysolith passive (February 3, 2024), Steam Workshop support (February 16, 2024), a brand new 16th class called the Swarm's Eye (March 4, 2024), an Anniversary patch adding ability demos, new items, and a new passive (January 16, 2025), and another content update adding a new weapon and class ability reworks (March 13, 2025). These have been accompanied by multiple feature patches adding new weapons, balance changes, UI improvements, expanded modding tools, and Steam trading cards, along with bug fix patches. The most recent developer communication of any kind was a feature patch on June 2, 2025. The major content updates arrived roughly every 1–6 months, establishing a clear and sustained pattern of ongoing development. As of October 1, 2026, it has been approximately 16 months since the last major content release (March 13, 2025) and approximately 16 months since the last developer communication of any kind (June 2, 2025). This extended silence does push beyond what the historical cadence would suggest for the gap between major releases, but the developer has made no announcement that development is complete or that no further content is planned. Given the sustained multi-year update history and the absence of any closing statement, the game continues to be assessed as receiving ongoing development, though the period of silence is notable.
Evidence
v1.2.1 shipped with a new flail weapon, class ability reworks, and modding improvements — the most recent major content update.
Anniversary patch v1.2 shipped with ability preview demos, two new accessories, and a new passive for the Titan class.
