Evaluation
Knightfall: A Daring Journey was created as Landfall's annual April Fools' Day project, released on April 1, 2022. From the very beginning, the developer was transparent that this was not a games-as-a-service title and that ongoing content updates were not guaranteed — only bug fixes and server maintenance were promised, with the possibility of "an update or two" if the team felt motivated.
The game did receive a burst of post-launch updates in April 2022 (three feature patches and a bug fix), but on June 14, 2022, Landfall explicitly announced that updates had come to an end. They confirmed no plans for further updates, no bug fixes, and that the servers would remain online. This post directly and clearly closed out the game's development cycle.
The game later became free-to-play on June 18, 2024, a decision Landfall made to address low player counts and keep the game accessible — not to signal new content. No new content has been announced or delivered since the June 2022 closure statement.
The game is complete as of June 14, 2022, the date Landfall formally announced the end of updates.
Evidence
Landfall explicitly announced that updates for Knightfall have come to an end. They stated 'we don't have any plans for further updates,' confirmed no planned bug fixes, and said the game will stay online as-is.
At launch, Landfall stated the game is not a games-as-a-service title, was made in five weeks as an April Fools' project, and promised only bug fixes and possibly an update or two — but no ongoing content updates.

About this game
Knightfall: A Daring Journey is a horse-drifting Battle Royale game!
Up to 28 players pair up in teams of two with the goal to reach the castle and pluck the rose before anyone else.
The journey will take many days and the knights must take shelter in different towns on the way so as to not freeze to death during the harsh nights.
As the journey continues there are fewer and fewer towns, and each team can expect to have to fight other pairs of players to take shelter.
By being the first team to reach each town, they ensure the first pick of the weapons and healing bandages that they’ll need to defend themselves against the approaching pair of knights.
Each morning it’s time to quickly get back on the horse and race towards the next destination until finally, they have their chance to pluck the rose!
