Left Alone

Left Alone originally launched on April 28, 2016, with a feature patch following on June 1, 2016. In December 2023, the developer announced a comprehensive rework of the game called "Left Alone: Rebirth," planned to bring a new engine (Unity 2022.3), redesigned environments, never-before-seen locations, expanded story content, new systems, and much more. On January 6, 2025, the developer posted a second devlog for Rebirth showing concrete progress on new systems, while noting a significant delay had occurred due to major eye surgery for a long-standing glaucoma condition. They stated they had returned to development and intended to post more frequently. However, the January 6, 2025 post remains the last official communication from the developer as of October 8, 2026 — a gap of nearly 21 months. The developer's stated intention to be more active was not followed through, and Rebirth has not been released. Given the already-irregular update cadence, the disclosed health challenges, and the extended silence since January 2025, there is genuine uncertainty about whether this rework is still being actively developed. The original game remains available for purchase and was shipped as a complete product in 2016, but the announced Rebirth update has not arrived.
