Level Devil

Level Devil

Released Mar 2025

“Troll” is such a strong word for this 2D platformer with nearly 240 uniquely inventive levels. Don’t let screaming YouTubers convince you that this game is unfair. It’s fair. Sure, there are buzzsaws but they’re NICE buzzsaws. You will curse the guy who made Level Devil (Me😈) then ask for more.

Evaluation

Level Devil launched on March 25, 2025 as a troll-style 2D platformer with approximately 240 levels. The developer (Unept) has remained consistently active since launch, shipping multiple bug fixes through mid-2025 and then delivering a major content update — "Level Devil-est (part 3)" — on March 19, 2026, which added a new batch of levels roughly a year after launch. More recently, on July 9, 2026, the developer released a beta Level Editor, allowing players to create and share their own levels. Notably, the announcement explicitly states that "way more tools, traps, functions, and options" are coming to the editor later — a direct developer commitment to future work. This is the most recent communication from the developer, just 41 days before today (August 19, 2026), and it clearly signals ongoing development rather than a completed product. The developer has not indicated that the game is finished or that no further content is planned.

CUSTOMERS LOVE IT:

"Brawl Stars is better" - Thomas

“It has the most playable two-dimensional level-breaking gameplay in the universe” - Anon

“The person who designed it must have a shockingly high IQ” - Volkan

“It’s like an evil, sadistic Atari 2600 game!” - psj3809

"I hate the developer of this game" - Kostya

"0 stars, I'm not even going to say why I was grounded because the game stressed me out a lot" - Priscila

"To the developer: I hope your pizza is always cold, Your pillow is always hot on both sides, You shower is always lukewarm and I hope you never find the reason for the one error message in the debugger" - Thatsweaterguy

“In a world full of game-mills, this game feels extremely genuine. It’s purely here for you to have fun. It’s genuinely well-made, and feels handcrafted. You’re experiencing something someone has made, not something a company has reskinned. I’ve never written a review before, but this game deserves one. Absolutely recommend” - Dgrub

"No I don't think I'll ever play your game, and more importantly, let's return to talking about how you're doing" - Developer's Therapist
