Evaluation
Like a Dragon: Ishin! launched on February 21, 2023 as a complete historical action-adventure game. All five DLC items — cosmetic and weapon packs — were released at or shortly after launch (the last on March 3, 2023), and none are listed as unreleased. The developer issued a series of bug fix and balance patches through April 27, 2023 (the last game-specific update), then ceased posting Ishin-specific content updates entirely. No roadmap, season pass, or future content was ever announced for this title. Subsequent posts on the Ishin Steam page are studio-wide announcements promoting other RGG Studio releases (Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, a developer sale), not new content for Ishin itself. The game launched as a self-contained remake of the original 2014 Japanese title and has been treated as such — a finished product with no ongoing content cycle.
